Ecological Whale Watching

Viewing whales in their natural habitat is one of the most incredible and unforgettable experiences possible. Come with us to meet these majestic sea creatures and we will bring you as near as possible for both humans and whales to be at ease.

Throughout their mating and birthing season, humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) journey through our waters. You can spot a mother whale with her calf or listen to pairs singing as they court one another. You will have the chance to see the whales lobtail, breach or flipper. Seeing a humpback whale surface the water is an unparalleled experience.

The instructional part of our tour will take place at Opequimar. There you will gain insight into the lives and habits of the whales and dolphins of Banderas Bay, while being served a complimentary breakfast. Then we will set off into the bay and begin to search for whales and dolphins. We are unable to predict how long it takes to sight a whale, because they are wild animals in their natural territory. When we do spot them, you will have the exciting chance to listen to the whales and dolphins communicate with one another via the hydrophone system on board. We want to foster education and appreciation because our organization is dedicated to the research and preservation of whales and dolphins. Our guides are professional biologists and they will be pleased to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for these amazing sea creatures, so join us and encounter the whales and dolphins of Banderas Bay.

Since 1991, we have been observing and studying humpback whales, and we will continue to research them and help protect these unique creatures.
